Event Description
Engine struck by auto while enroute to house fire. Engine lost control and sheared a telephone pole and then a tree. Four fire fighters injured, one firefighter extricated and suffered a broken tib fib. Three other firefighters with minor injuries. Apparatus destroyed. Civilian had minor injuries.
Lesson Learned
Drivers need to be aware of traffic conditions, exercise defensive driving skills, need to be cognizant of speed,traffic conditions etc. Utilize all safety equipment while driving.
